I have been debating for weeks what to post about because it’s still 100 damn degrees!
We are in October!
I’ve ordered sweaters, sweater dresses, boots and I’m still wearing summer clothes. We had two nice days of 70s and then it ghosted us like a bad boyfriend.
We woke up hurt, confused, hot and bothered.
My Instagram feed is full of girls in boots and 5 layers of clothes while drinking a hot pumpkin spice latte.
WHERE THE HELL DO YALL LIVE?! Alaska?!
Because if you are anywhere remotely close to the Southeast it’s still ass sweat season.
I am praying for the weather to change!! I’m learning rain dances, but for cold weather.
I’ll probably arrange some rocks in the shape of a pumpkin in our cul de sac and blast, “These Boots Were Made For Walking” out of my car.
Maybe memorize and recite some lines from Hocus Pocus for good measure.
Sweaters AND pants are a lethal combo right now, so we’re just gonna pair our sweaters with a fall short.
Specifically, a wrap sweater.
The wrap sweater is SUCH a forgiving and figure complimenting style.
The style I used for this lewk is a shorter crop wrap sweater, however I’m providing links to all lengths throughout this post. We’re gonna wrap it up!
CROP WRAP SWEATERS
The wrap silhouette on any style garment is our best friend at creating illusion and camouflaging.
For me, the wrap style, helps create the illusion of a waistline. My frame is very long and slender naturally, like a rectangle or Gumby! So for me personally, I have to dress my frame to give the illusion of more curves.
Smoke and mirrors ladies!!
Longer wrap sweaters are our friends on days we’re bloated, we don’t feel like sucking in or WHATEVER. The ruching across the midsection helps conceal those concerns for us!
Here are a few styles below!
WAIST LENGTH WRAP SWEATERS
I paired my wrap sweater with a pair of chain print shorts.
I love chain print for Fall! It’s definitely a Versace inspired look for less.
CHAIN PRINT GARMETS I’M LOVING
When you’re picking shorts for the fall or winter you want to choose a heavier fabric versus something light like linen.
Looking back on these photos now, I would not wear the chain necklace with this lewk. I think it’s a bit much, but I love the lucite hoops from Baublebar! See! I don’t always get it quite right.
I was texting with my brother last week on upcoming content and I told him I was going to write about sweaters.
His response was, “If you can wear a sweater and not melt right now, you should get a trophy”.
And I agree!! So we’ll just do our best, pray my Hocus Pocus weather dance works and continue to pretend like we know what we’re doing.
Whatever you’re wearing to survive this bizarre October weather, push your shoulders back and keep your chin up…
Because being you ROX!
