This time of year is chaotic as shit.
None of the lights on any of my Christmas trees work, I got too close to a propane heater the other day and caught my favorite camo jacket on fire. Per usual, I am a damn mess.
BUT, we have so many places to go, to be put together for and we don’t always have time to think about complicated outfits.
The recipe for feeling like a cool girl can be easy, sweater dresses.
When we were shooting these dresses I was explaining to my friend Tara how we just overthink good outfits sometimes, so I just wanted to highlight easy dresses to wear.
Easy lewks that make us feel like a KEWL girl!
I’m sure you’re thinking, “Lyv why the hell do you keep spelling shit like this?” I don’t freaking know it’s just something the inter web is doing and I’m just trying to keep up. Kewl is pronounced cool, stay with me.
You know the movie, I Feel Pretty?
Well there’s a scene when she’s feeling confident AF walking across the street and the song, Cool Girl by Tove Lo starts playing…that’s the vibe we’re going for.
I love to listen to that song while I get ready, puts a little pep in my lanky step.
She sneaks the “f” word in, so be careful listening to it out loud at your office, unless your office is cool with that kind of language. AND if they are, they hiring?
I’m breaking this series into two parts.
Sweater dresses can be simple, but there can be subtle style differences that give us a touch of flare.
In part one I’m covering shift style sweater dresses.
Shift styles are going to be more loose and baggy, not a very tailored fit. Great if you need to smuggle a puppy into a party or take two laps at the lil smokey table.

But we don’t want to just wear a dress that looks like a bag with no shape.
I was drawn to this dress because of the mock turtle neck and the balloon sleeve detail. I knew I’d feel comfortable in it if I had 7 tacos, but still stylish.
I love to keep it easy with all black.
In some of the shots I paired a hat to switch it up. I can’t decide if I look like a cab driver or a kewl girl. Anyway! All black is always sleek, sexy and a home run.
I will say the hem length on this dress probably isn’t PTA meeting approved, so it’s definitely a going out dress for me. I ain’t making no laps at the food table with my grandma around.
Sometimes I want to be a colorful kewl girl.
This is the exact same dress as previously styled in all black. It sold out in the black and pink, however is still available in gray and burgundy.

Whenever we think Forever21 we think everything should be $2.90! GUILTY AS CHARGED.
Read the reviews on styles you’re interested in for any brand or website! Typically they’ll say if the quality is worth it or not.
Also, just because it’s the holiday season doesn’t mean you’re limited to green and red for color options.
Those colors look like shit on me. I don’t know what’s wrong with me today I’m just really full of it. I need to get out of the house.
One last point real quick, I’m getting long winded for something that I meant to be fast.
These BOOTS!!! They’re Christian Louboutin and I found them at the Clothes Mentor a consignment store in Columbia. They were still in the original box with the stickers still on them from Nordstrom that said $1,145. I got them for $250. Some websites still had them online for the full price.
