I wanted to turn the spotlight today onto a local business and boss betch who was extremely kind to open her doors and let Laura and I snap a few pics!
Jennifer Tinsley is the founder of FIELD on 12th Street in downtown Augusta, Georgia.
Look close! Behind the camera is my trusty sidekick Laura with Jen.
Maybe you’re a frequent shopper with Jen at FIELD or maybe you’re not familiar at all with what this posh shop has to offer!
5 FIELD FUN FACTS
1. They are an indie store that offers vegan and cruelty free skincare, makeup, bath, scent, nail, and hair products.
2. Jen’s highly skincare curated products contain no “baddies” such as parabens, phthalates, petrochemicals, or synthetic colors or fragrances.
3. Jen LOVES educating the community on going green with their beauty routine, supporting high quality brands, and shopping small.
I was supposed to be “pretend” shopping while Laura snagged some action shots, however I kept asking Jen questions about products so she REALLY is educating me in this shot on a calming face oil - WHICH I purchased.
And then Laura was like, “Lyv put all that stuff down it looks awkward in your hands.” And I said, “But I need it!”
Look at my face!! Every time I turned around I was wondering what each beautifully packaged item was!
Also, I bought the bath bombs and they were AMAZING.
4. FIELD is also a skincare brand - with 3 Smell Me, I’m Cruelty Free products that are the best sellers in the shop:
Smell My Pits deodorant, Smell My Bod body mist, and Smell My Feet deodorant foot spray. All are created with botanical ingredients and are completely plant based, vegan, and EFFECTIVE.
5. FIELD offers workshops, pop ups, art shows - loads of fun activities!
For example, on Feb 13 they’re hosting a Galentine’s Beauty Trivia Night, with pub style trivia on beauty facts and myths, pop culture, and Parks & Rec.
There is a nice, fun sitting area to the left of me out of frame! Lots of room for fun activities and yummy beverages at FIELD!
This isn’t necessarily a fun fact about FIELD but it is fun STUFF you can find in there.
I purchased these as well.
Obviously.
LITTLE KNOWN FACTS
Most of their brands are female owned and are sustainable, transparent, and donate to charity. Jen tries to speak with all the brand founders and some have done pop up shops and remote workshops with founders so customers can get insight into the brands.
FIELD makes it a priority to support locally, or at least southern, brands.
Their most popular makeup brand (CLOVE + HALLOW) is from Atlanta, and the founder Sarah Biggers will be doing a pop up in March. Stay tuned for the date of that pop up!
Jules & Esther is a brand from Louisiana that is a big seller.
We work with a green beauty aesthetician and offer 45 minute skincare and makeup consultations on Saturdays by appointment.
It’s so easy to schedule - you can do it at the shop or just click on “book” on our IG page.
FIELD is dedicated to offering affordable products that are still of the highest quality.
Jen feels that “luxury” skincare products are more about marketing and less about inclusivity.
FIELD’s most expensive facial oil is $65, and most price points are well below that. But since all the products are highly curated, they all contain ingredients that are both efficacious and affordable. They often contain the same ingredients as higher priced luxury products
When I walked into Jen’s store and saw those key chains I immediately knew I would thoroughly enjoy myself at FIELD.
As I spoke to Jen and saw the passion behind the store and direct involvement in the manufacturing and production; I realized I was surround by some pretty kick ass products and a boss betch!
How great are the names of the FIELD skincare brand?! Smell My Feet!
That’s outstanding.
Lately, more and more, I hear my Mom in the back of my head from when I was child saying, “You are the company that you keep and associating yourself with people of good quality and good hearts can make all the difference.”
I think that concept matters to me now more than ever, because when you see someone chasing a passion or an opportunity to pursue a passion, it’s contagious.
So thank you Jen for being a positive contributor and influence on pursuing things in life we are passionate about. It’s a joy to have these pictures from your shop with a little extra kick of girl power behind them!
Go visit FIELD in Augusta, Georgia on 12th Street and please ask Jen to Smell Your Pits.
Until next time!! Being you ROX!
